ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book discusses the from a business aviation conference held at Moscow, Russia, in October 2020. The conference was organised by the Russian United Business Aviation Association and sponsored by the industry leaders including Sirius Aero, RusLine, International Center of Business Aviation, FastAir, GetJet, JetService. The formative aim of this book is twofold. First, the book attempts to address a research lacuna and explore some of the most important contemporary debates associated with the role, nature and effects of illegal charters in the 21st century. While it is possible to gain some insight into the spatialities of the global business aviation network by using proxy sources, such as national aircraft registers, directories of business aviation companies, and data from air traffic control organisations such sources often only provide information about individual aircraft or individual flight plans.
