ABSTRACT

One of the most crowded meetings of the members of the Anti-Corn Law Association and the registration committee of the League took place on Thursday evening, at the rooms in Newell’s Buildings, that has been held for some time.—After the routine business of the evening, the secretary reported the registering of 421 new members in Manchester, and 600 in Liverpool, in addition to the 1800 names received a week since.— Mr. Murray, one of the lecturers of the League, gave a short and interesting account of his visit to the midland counties.— During the address of Mr. Murray, Richard Cobden, Esq., M.P. for Stockport, entered the room, and was received with loud cheers.
