ABSTRACT

This conclusion speaks to the role contemplative art and creativity play in accessing the imagination necessary to co-create more liberatory worlds. Drawing on inspiration that visionary fiction is providing many social movement leaders, this chapter argues that embodied practices can generate the creativity necessary for “world-building.” Contemplative art practices help connect students to their inner experience and to one another; they can also help resource us as educators. Creativity and radical imagination also help us reconnect with joy and possibility, both of which are essential on social justice journeys.
