ABSTRACT

The values of community justice are community justice's most distinctive characteristic, and these will be outlined and discussed in this chapter. The chapter will consider some of the various ethical frameworks that appear to have most relevance to work in the community with those who have committed offences. It will also introduce some of the international instruments that set out the rights frameworks for work with both adults and children, as well setting out the values statements and frameworks that are promoted by the various agencies and professional bodies across Australia.
