ABSTRACT

Chapter 8 brings forward examples of recent English research-grounded Religion and Worldviews practice in schools. They are gathered under the concept of Religion and Worldview literacy (or its precedents, religious literacy, or religion and belief literacy), and attention is first paid to the evolution of the concept. Case studies are then summarised, where researchers and practitioners collaborated to generate pedagogy based on a clarified Religion and Worldview literacy framework combined with the 2018 Commission on Religious Education (CORE) report’s proposed national entitlement. They are snapshots, but their exemplar quality is positive and, rather than isolated, they are found comparable to other recent work. Without forming a worked-out curriculum framework, as good pedagogical cases, they could be adapted into one.
