ABSTRACT

After a project or piece of research has been completed, the results have to be conveyed to others. This may be done in writing or in the form of an oral presentation. The advantage of a written report over an oral presentation is that the subject can be treated in much greater detail and those interested in the subject have a tangible source to refer back to. Writing a report is time-consuming. Reading a report can also be time-consuming. If a report is difficult to read, the reader will be tempted to put it away without finishing it. The writer’s work will then have been in vain. A report should therefore be clear and easy to read.
