ABSTRACT

This chapter offers a review of concepts associated with corporate entrepreneurship (CE). It depicts CE as an important answer to the great managerial challenge of securing the survival and sustainable development of companies. In this chapter, different approaches to CE are discussed, as well as different forms of CE (including corporate venturing and strategic entrepreneurship). The chapter shows how these different strands interconnect and addresses the challenge to organisations of building and sustaining competitive advantage. It is concluded by showing how CE can be operationalised and measured.
