ABSTRACT

This chapter presents corporate volunteering—its essence and various forms implemented in contemporary companies, including inter-, intra-, and extra-organisational volunteering. The chapter includes examples of volunteer projects obtained from companies operating in Poland. The chapter depicts the state of the art with regard to organisational outcomes of employee participation in corporate volunteering. In this regard, the literature review is complemented with results of the authors’ qualitative study. The presentation focuses particularly on strengthened relationships at work and enhanced work meaningfulness and organisational commitment. These results are argued to be the primary effects of employee participation in corporate volunteering.
