ABSTRACT

This chapter explores some of the practical issues related to undertaking research. It discusses the different types of student research before exploring some of the considerations that must be made before starting, such as ensuring quality, having an appropriate timescale, gaining access and collaboration. The role of a tutor is explored, and common faults in student research are highlighted. Issues related to undertaking student research during a pandemic are discussed, and the options for continuing research beyond the project are explained.
