ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces the idea of the research process, describing each of the stages of the process and their relationships to each other. The chapter addresses the issues of selecting a topic, reviewing the literature, developing theoretical and conceptual frameworks, clarifying the research question, identifying a research design, data collection, data analysis, drawing conclusions and disseminating findings. The chapter concludes with a discussion of how to plan the overall research process.
