ABSTRACT

The chapter explains the role of human capital and human capital resource in promoting innovative work behaviour in organizations. The earlier part of the chapter attempts to understand the difference between human capital and human capital resource, arguing as to why both could be treated separately. The later part, based upon the theoretical argument, link human capital with innovative work behaviour. This part also explains the role of human capital resource (HCR) in the association between human capital (HC) and innovative work behaviour (IWB). Based upon the theoretical discussion and support, a testable framework is derived linking HC, HCR, and IWB. The derived framework needs to be tested in order to see its empirical application in any context.
