ABSTRACT

The survey is virtually synonymous with the written questionnaire, although there is more to it than just that. It is one of the best-known forms of research, frequently employed by organizations and companies for purposes such as customer research and opinions polls. The strategy of the survey allows the researcher to collect a considerable body of data on a large number of subjects, which makes it a highly efficient approach to research. The use of surveys and questionnaires is becoming more popular in research in public administration and public management. Also, the customary methods to correct for non-response during the phase of statistical analysis turned out to be unsatisfactory. Non-response in questionnaire research has increased in the past few years (probably because people are being asked to participate too often), and researchers will have to consider this point more closely.
