ABSTRACT

Maintaining a social media presence could feel overwhelming on top of an already busy workload for academics. A common barrier in keeping an active social media presence is time. However, if you align your social media activities with your career and research values, you can effectively sustain your online presence and, at the same time, work towards goals around reach and impact. By developing a plan of action with the right strategy and curated content plan, you can set realistic expectations around the amount of time you will invest in social media. You’ll also reduce your mental load by putting in structures and themes around what to post. Keep in mind all the benefits of having a consistent and sustainable online presence and make your social media practice a habit to achieve your goals and amplify your work.
