ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses a visit to the homeland of Amir Temur in the Chaghatai empire. We have visited Temur’s place of birth at Shakhrisabz and his capital at Samarkand and other historical places where he fought and built monuments, including the historical museum of Amir Temur at Tashkent built by the current Uzbekistan government. Uzbekistan had been part of the Soviet Union and got independence after the breakup of the Soviet Union. This travel information would be very useful to the travelers visiting the Central Asian states. The immigration officers are concerned more with the visitor’s purse to make sure that the traveler was carrying the exact amount of dollars he had declared. Any excess amount to the declaration form was to be forfeited by the immigration officer. A good read for the travelers.
