This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the current education and community engagement activities of orchestras and opera companies, considering their aims, intentions, and outcomes. The chapter also looks at the big questions facing orchestras and opera companies today – how do they maintain their relevance? What is their role in people's lives? Where is the future audience?
