ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the challenges and prospects for developing a witness protection framework for Nigeria. The challenges are broadly discussed under political factors, economic factors, and social factors. It also examines the prospects for developing a witness protection framework in Nigeria. The discussions in this chapter are provided within the specific context of Nigeria taking into consideration its own socio-political, socio-economic, and socio-cultural peculiarities. The chapter underscores the importance of contextual constraints on policy innovation processes. The chapter provides a summary of the recommendations and a roadmap for developing a witness protection framework in Nigeria and Africa generally.
