ABSTRACT

This final chapter considers the implications of the issues discussed throughout the book as the past, present and future of homicide investigation in England and Wales are drawn together. The key findings of the research that were presented in this book are summarised, and a reflection on change from a broader perspective is also offered. Specifically, the impact of change on the homicide detection rate and the risk of future miscarriages of justice is discussed. The conclusion also offers some recommendations for future research that could serve to shed further light on the issues that have been identified and deliberated throughout the text.
