ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces three types of primary school by using three schools as examples. Daba Primary School is an independent six-year primary school. Shaba School is a nine-year school covering both primary and junior middle school. Fuan School is a federal primary school made up of three schools in three villages. The three sections focus on their different characteristics. The first section discusses the student-centred approach, the extra-curricular activities and curriculum reform in Daba Primary School. The section on Shaba School focuses on multicultural education and teaching in the school. The Fuan School section describes teacher recruitment and mid-term annual tests. By using different cases, this chapter introduces different characteristics of primary schools in the county from different perspectives.
