ABSTRACT

This chapter covers the drafting instructions and diagrams for the waistcoat, breeches, coat and sleeves. I have given two different approaches to creating the patterns. One will use the male basic block as a starting point, and one will use original eighteenth-century patterns. This will produce basic patterns for these garments. It also covers adapting the garments to some of the main styles of the eighteenth century. Sleeves, cuffs and collars are included.
