ABSTRACT

In a brief and jovial conversation that references artists as diverse as Dimitri, Ken Shimura, and Rowan Atkinson's Mr. Bean, Ketch discusses his early days in mime, leading to his clown studies in London and the beginnings of Gamarjobat, a clown duo featuring Ketch and Japanese mime Hiro-pon. Together, the duo created wordless routines that blended mime, clown, and physical comedy, evolving Gamarjobat into a global brand that took Ketch worldwide for two decades – even including a stint as a band – before the artists agreed to separate, leaving Ketch to continue his solo work and return to his roots in clown.
