ABSTRACT

Slava Polunin, the creator of Snowshow, is one of the world's most recognizable clowns. In his early years, he trained as an eccentric, founding the well-known clown troupe Licedei in Russia, and moving on to develop several notable events including The Caravan for Peace and founding the Academy of Fools. He has received the Olivier Award for Best Entertainment (UK), among other notable awards. In his later years, he has shifted his focus away from the stage toward simply wondering how to be happy, as his art has become indistinguishable from life. In his interview, he discusses Marcel Marceau, Charlie Chaplin, the Silver Age, and his evolution as an artist.
