ABSTRACT

The great clown Dimitri influenced generations of artists. In this interview, he discusses his own journey and his passion for the art form, stimulated by his encounters with Marcel Marceau and Grock. Dimitri worked for the Circus Medrano, Circus Knie, the Big Apple Circus, and was inducted into the International Clown Hall of Fame. At his own theatre and school in Verscio, Switzerland, he was active as a clown, teacher, and mentor right up until his death in 2016.
