ABSTRACT

Unclubbability is endemic among maladjusted young people, and the leisure occupation of the residents was perhaps the least satisfactory side of the hostel’s life. But it may well be that in the free atmosphere that was provided, the residents took what they needed rather than what we thought might be good for them. This is something the emotionally disturbed very often do with great success if the opportunity is provided, and is one of the many reasons why a free libertarian atmosphere is preferable to a tightly structured directive one.
