ABSTRACT

Throughout this Report we have constantly emphasized the importance we attach to the forging of close links between a residential Home and the neighbourhood near to it. Fortunately the large majority of Homes are situated sufficiently near to residential areas for this to be practicable; but it does not inevitably come about of itself without the efforts of those concerned. Yet it is worth considerable effort, for both residents and staff suffer if their lives are cut off from those amongst whom they live.
