ABSTRACT
Proclamations that the soul is dead, or at least irrelevant or at most illusion or metaphor, have been made in all scientific disciplines. This chapter will analyze such proclamations and their implications. First of all, the natural sciences assume that the behavior of human beings can perfectly well be explained without any recourse to the notion of soul.
