ABSTRACT

There is only one possibility for the expression of universal respect for human beings, one which is provided by the earthly needs of the soul and body of men. The object of public life is to take all measures conducive to delivering to the greatest extent possible power in all its forms, without exception, into the hands of those who truly accept to be bound by the universal obligation to all human beings. A particular play of circumstances or a particular appeal proffers the person of some human beings to our attention. Obligation has for its object the earthly needs of the soul and of the body of human beings whoever they may be. The object of public life consists in placing to the greatest extent possible all forms of power into the hands of those who truly consent to be bound by the obligation required of every man toward all human beings, and who have an understanding of it.
