ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses assessment models. It encourages the reader to keep certain considerations in mind when using assessment models, and discusses the possibility of using these models as a way of giving form and shape to observations without limiting the person to the parameters of the model. This requires remembering that an assessment model is a way of speaking about a person—it is not the person—and that the assessment is always up for re-evaluation. The chapter then details three assessment models the reader could use in their coaching programs—the Five Elements Model, Domains of Competence Model, and Components of Satisfaction and Effectiveness Model—and how to use them.
