ABSTRACT

The Project Management Institute identifies multiple knowledge areas, each contain processes that are to be accomplished for effective and successful project management. Integration management is used in project management to coordinate activities that occur across all of the process groups and knowledge areas. The main activities that occur during knowledge area involve the development and management of the project management plan. The main processes in the scope management knowledge area start with the project scope statement, within the project charter, and are elaborated with the definition and documentation of project functional requirements. Project schedule management involves all activities related to completing the project. Project resource management is a vital skill for all project managers. This knowledge area goes beyond just human resources, or the team, to include all resources required for the project. Risk management continues throughout the project by monitoring the identified risks and implementing the risk response when needed.
