ABSTRACT

This chapter presents stimulating exercises with lively illustrations in Irish showing how Irish speakers ask others about their jobs and questions in the present tense. It describes the verb and variation in form of the preposition meaning “in”. The chapter also shows how the Irish speakers asking others for details regarding scheduling. The situation of switching jobs was uncommon in Ireland. People typically stayed in the initial job that they obtained after completing their education and remained there performing many years of loyal service. Positive changes in the economy mean that people have more options in career decisions and the possibility for some change.
