ABSTRACT

Stories, as they are used in university education in non-English literature courses, are the focus of our next chapter. Stories are being used in many disciplines. Interestingly, for a profession where people’s stories are integral, there is not a lot written about, or studied, on the use of fiction in social work. This was an identified gap during Dara’s PhD journey. We explore, in our practice, which stories we privilege and which we struggle in hearing when we connect stories, social work, and education before closing with some implications for social work.
