ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we pay particular attention to the ways in which communities of learners, including book clubs, can disrupt traditional teaching-learning hierarchies and provide effective sites to deep learning, thinking, and acting together and to support critical reflection. We focus on the community building aspect of book clubs and outline some of the considerations worth thinking about when establishing a book club as a community of learners.
