ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the concept of corporate governance and its main mechanisms. It further highlights the main corporate governance principles issued by Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The chapter also explores the level of implementation of corporate governance codes in both developed and developing countries, with a particular focus on the Middle East and Gulf Cooperation Council contexts.
