ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the framing of Affirmative Action as reparations for Black enslavement and presents a case study about activities, some of them covert, and documents pushing back against university Affirmative Action policies and against salaries based on market forces. Two senior level Black women (one of whom is the author), the only Black faculty members in a department of more than 60 faculty, mount a counter offensive on behalf of a recently hired Black female faculty member.
