Arnold Shlepakov, Ukrainian Diaspora in America and Academic Exchanges

Concentrating on the academic biography of Soviet Ukrainian Americanist Arnold Shlepakov, this chapter describes how the KGB in Kyiv used the connections between the American/Canadian Communists of Ukrainian origin and the Soviet Ukrainian intellectuals, who worked for the KGB, to target not only the Ukrainian Diaspora in America but also the academic and cultural exchange programs between Soviet Ukraine and the “capitalist America.”
