ABSTRACT
This chapter describes the impact of the pandemic on low-income families with limited resources. The cases in this chapter center on teachers and families wrestling with a lack of computers, minimal workspace, limited or no Wi-Fi access, and childcare. It also examines the phenomenon of the “missing children”—those who have not attended school virtually or have not come back to class since their schools have opened for in-person instruction.
