ABSTRACT
In order for Chinese academia to get rid of its “apprenticeship” to foreign scholarship and thus bring into being the “Chinese school,” it is necessary to break with external reflection, effect large-scale Sinicisation of foreign theory, and undergo the hard training of the uniting of cultures. All these are exemplified by historical cases.
