ABSTRACT
This chapter illustrates how to revise a first draft to include suspense at the climax of a narrative by using the slow-motion technique. It also demonstrates the effectiveness of including a variety of sentence structures and lengths for impact. It breaks the technique down and provides models for discussion and exploration. It also includes a number of scenarios and exercises where the technique can be practised.
