ABSTRACT

This chapter continues the narrative story of Michael’s struggle with a traumatic brain injury and post-concussion syndrome. After an opportunity to start over, Michael and his spouse settled in a different part of the county. A new teaching position at a community college afforded Michael the opportunity to return to the classroom and get his family back on track. Unfortunately, as he stood in front of his new group of adult students and tried to speak, his words came out jumbled and difficult to comprehend. He had to send his students home and soon realized he wasn’t ready for the classroom. This chapter highlights the importance of an inner-circle where love and support can be found even through the most challenging of circumstances.
