ABSTRACT

This chapter explores applying third order thinking and third order change to societal systems beyond families. Guidelines for socioculturally attuned praxis include building and maintaining attuned relationships, naming without shaming, identifying and building on collective values, intervening with intention, creating collective vision, and engaging in transformation. Authors are joined by the voices of others engaged in third order thinking and third order change across multiple levels and types of societal systems. Contributors share examples of their transformative work in communities, organizations, judicial systems, municipalities, educational institutions, supervision, policy work, and research.
