ABSTRACT

Chapter 8 will prepare teachers to coach multimodal composers through the contemporary publishing process, commonly known in design circles as the launch. Explicit guidance, tools, and resources will be shared that will enable readers to help students find the best outlets for their work, time their launch in a thoughtful way, and most importantly, consider the unintended consequences of their decision-making as they prepare to send their work into the world. Here, teachers will learn how to help young writers notice and reflect upon the distance that often exists between our intentions and our impact, in order to serve themselves and their audiences well.
