ABSTRACT

Here we discuss some models for managing innovation like the influential Bass Diffusion model, which has recently been used as a means of estimating the size and growth rate of online social networks. The chapter also discusses disruptive innovation management for education services like cMOOCs and the later xMOOCs. The chapter also discusses the Hype cycle, which provides a conceptual representation of the maturity of innovation through five life cycle phases. Another model discussed is the Innovation Circle, which is basically an analytical tool for managing the process of bringing an innovation, like a new university degree or college qualification, to market. The Phase-Gate, Change Quadrants, Kotter’s Change and models are also discussed.
