ABSTRACT

This chapter is about the resource that comes from relationships between the school, college or university and its stakeholders, from its ability to innovate and manage change, from its infrastructure and from the knowledge, experience and transferable competencies of its staff. It looks at intellectual capital as a fusion between the two different theoretical perspectives: one that focuses on generating and exploiting knowledge and intangibles in the manner of educational improvement; and one that focuses on measuring output in terms of determinants in the manner of educational effectiveness research.
