ABSTRACT
This chapter gives a history of trait leadership theory and categorises leadership traits. It describes modern trait leadership models including the Zaccaro Model, discussing distal attributes and proximal personal characteristics and their correlations to leader efficacy. It also describes and discusses other models such as the Leader Trait Emergence Effectiveness Model and the Integrated Model of Leader Traits, Behaviours and Effectiveness.
