ABSTRACT
This is the second of three chapters on transformational leadership, focusing on the contribution of Warren Bennis, whom Douglas McGregor, the leading theorist in behavioural leadership theory, considered his protégé. Bennis himself placed his work in both transformational and contingency camps, so he was really the one to open up this category of leadership theory. The chapter also discusses the management of choice and risk.
