ABSTRACT

The Coda draws an analogy between the work of Youth Climate Courts and the kind of caring and focused intervention a loving family undertakes when the addiction of someone they love has gotten out of control and is causing harm to themselves and to everyone around them. These young Youth Climate Court organizers are performing a similar intervention on behalf of the people, communities, and planet they love. The test now is whether their intervention work will be effective in confronting our social addiction to fossil fuels and whether local governments will take the message as seriously as their young people do.
