ABSTRACT

This chapter examines some of the key trends in religious identities, behaviors, beliefs and attitudes among Millennials, with a special focus on two distinct dynamics among this generation: growing religious pluralism paired with the decline of organized religion. Using quantitative analysis techniques, I group Millennials into a typology of four well-defined categories: religious, spiritual seeker, cultural believer and nonreligious Millennials. The in-depth exploration of these types and each group's key features then structure the following chapters of this book.
