ABSTRACT

The purpose of this book is to offer a contribution to develop a specific theory of technocratic politics, discussing its different relevant aspects: patterns of rationality (Chapter 1), power dispositives (Chapter 2), managing ambivalence (Chapter 3), emergency and socio-political system (Chapter 4). The main thesis is that technocratic politics is a way to express the increasing difficulty of keeping the “rule of law” and “popular sovereignty” together in a global scenario as well as social development and justice. This question is specular to “neo-populist” question.
