ABSTRACT
The purpose of this chapter is to analyse technocratic politics in the early phase of Covid-19 crisis with a special focus on the “stay-at-home” phase in Italy. Technocracy is an indispensable means for managing the crisis and is clearly subordinated to the ruling class. Our hypothesis is that a grey technocratic configuration next to the classic enlightened despotism\police state has characterised the “stay-at-home” strategy. Probably, constituting a model of crisis management for the future.
