ABSTRACT

As you can probably tell by now, I have been in a number of bars in my life. Some were very high-end: $1,000-bottle-type places; some cleaned teeth up at the end of the night. No matter what type of place it was, there was always a set of rules that had to be followed, and bouncers are the ones who enforced those rules. The bouncers are unique decision-makers in the bar; they decide who stays and who goes. Some bouncers' rules were very restrictive in nature; some were barely visible. Basically, don't steal anything out of the register and you were okay. Regardless of their philosophy on managing the bar rules, if you crossed the line, they all would come down with a vengeance. Many of them actually enjoyed the process of giving someone the boot!
