150It has been said that collaboration is a state of mind, a type of behavior, something to do with culture, or all about leadership style. We hope that we have convinced you that this is not the case. We have demonstrated that if you design a way of working (Target Operating Model) based on an organizational structure using common-sense management know-how and you include your closest partners in the loop, then you will create a business framework in which collaboration will thrive. It is crucial to treat this as a management discipline that can be repeated, audited, and improved just as you do with sales, commercial, finance, etc. It is not ‘rocket science', and if you follow the step-by-step approach that we described, you can't go wrong.
